Here are the panels for the first page, with the script below. I’m overall pleased with how I executed the script. Hopefully drawing and writing will develop a synergy. I picked up a few tips that sounded good from a YouTuber and cartoon artist called Scott Drummond. First, make sure the first panel is an establishing shot, to orient the reader. Second, vary the size of the characters. Third, love your backgrounds – that’s your world, so don’t skip. He also talks about using reference materials to get the perspective and proportions right. I only used one reference shot a still from an early Tom Cruise movie. Can you spot it?
